Position: Maintenance - Day (260-Calendar/12-month)

Position Overview

Glenbrook South High School's Buildings and Grounds Department is seeking a Maintenance worker (260-Calendar/12-month) for the day shift for the school year. The Maintenance staff members perform essential maintenance tasks in assigned buildings, including repair and replacement of electrical and plumbing fixtures and monitoring HVAC equipment. The role assists with preventative maintenance programs and collaborates with the custodial crew as needed.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. is essential.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or general educational degree (GED).

Ability to read and understand basic directions and operating instructions such as safety rules and procedure manuals.

Ability to communicate verbally to staff, students, and community visitors while demonstrating a positive attitude.

Ability to work in the building alone, identify and take action to remedy potential safety or health concerns.

Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of essential duties and responsibilities.

Maintained regular attendance.

Positive attitude and spirit of collaboration.
