JOB SUMMARY:

Part-Time Maintenance staff are responsible for performing a wide variety of general labor tasks, including cleaning, maintenance, repairs, painting, construction, landscaping, and seasonal duties at The Grove, and are responsible for performing the following essential functions including, but not limited to:

  • Performs general building maintenance and repair.
  • Assists with construction projects.
  • Cleans the interiors of buildings thoroughly (washing & waxing floors, windows, wiping walls, cleaning bathrooms & kitchen areas, etc.).
  • Performs all seasonal work assignments (e.g. snow removal, salting, etc.).
  • Completes landscaping activities (planting, mowing, raking, chipping, etc.).
  • Performs set-up and tear-down for programs and special events.
  • Removes garbage and disposes of properly.
  • Minor maintenance of all tools, equipment, machinery, and mechanical systems as necessary.
  • Routinely inspects furnishings and landscaping (walkways, parking lots, benches, etc.).
  • Identifies and repairs or reports any failures or hazards.
  • Secures each location before leaving site, checking security, light fixtures, fire extinguishers, thermostats, locks, and related items.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Age Requirement:
    Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    At least 1-2 years' relevant experience.
  • Certifications / Memberships:
    Professional certification(s) and/or active membership in a professional association desirable.
  • Licenses:
    Illinois driver's license required.
Scheduling & Pay:
  • This is a part-time, hourly position.
  • The hours are generally Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:00 a.m.

    - 4:30 p.m., with additional evening and weekend work as needed.
  • The anticipated compensation is $18/hr.
