Job Duties
- Assist with routine maintenance on school vehicles, lawn mowers, and small equipment (oil changes, tire checks, filter replacements, etc.).
- Inspect and repair mechanical components such as engines, belts, brakes, and hoses under supervision.
- Help troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using basic diagnostic tools.
- Repair and maintain door hardware, including locks, hinges, door closers, handles, and kick plates throughout school buildings.
- Adjust and align doors to ensure smooth operation and proper security.
- Support maintenance staff with building equipment repairs, including doors, gates, and mechanical fixtures.
- Maintain and organize tools, parts, and supplies in the workshop.
- Follow safety procedures and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist in keeping accurate maintenance and repair records.
- Snow removal.
- Enter school request for building repairs and closeout when complete.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the administration.
- Interest in mechanics, repair work, or maintenance trades.
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn how to use hand and power tools safely.
- Good problem-solving, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness to learn from experienced staff and follow directions carefully.
- Dependable, responsible, and safety conscious.
- High school student or graduate (vocational or technical trade program preferred).
- Basic understanding of tools, vehicles, or mechanical systems (helpful but not required).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical labor.
- Valid driver's license may be required for some positions.
Salary Range
