As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for providing exceptional support to residents of a large community development in the Chicago suburbs. This seasonal opportunity is available at a property in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.
Your Responsibilities- Maintain grounds, including sidewalks, snow removal, gutter cleaning, wood replacement, drywall, collecting trash, etc.
- Perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
- Remove snow and ice from front and rear entrances, walks, ramps, and garbage can areas as needed.
- Maintain mailroom in neat and clean order.
- Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, setting up tables and chairs for Board Meetings.
- Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems. Report damage, stains, or necessary repairs to the Community Association Manager.
- Report to manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.
- Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
- Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year’s previous experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
- Ability to engage law enforcement, when necessary, to promote public safety.
- Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
- Ability to read and utilize technical manuals and drawings.
- Works effectively with coworkers, clients, customers, and others by sharing ideas constructively and finding mutually acceptable solutions.
- Must possess a high-energy attitude and the ability to multi-task/prioritize different projects at any given time.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
