Job Description Overview:
Maintenance employees shall be expected to maintain all district property in a condition of safety, efficiency and effectiveness to ensure that students, staff and community members are provided with a safe and secure learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Possess High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Building Automated System (BAS)
- Knowledge of motor repair - gasoline, electric
- Demonstrated mechanical ability plumbing, electric, HVAC
- Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with all staff
- Flexibility to work alternate shifts or overtime when needed
- Knowledgeable and able to perform all aspects of general building maintenance including, but not limited to, basic plumbing/HVAC, electrical, carpentry, etc.
- Able to work cooperatively with board of education, administrators, secretaries, and other building/district personnel
- Able to perform electrical repairs - maintain lighting - switches, etc.
- Able to perform roof maintenance and repair - (use of ladder required)
- Able to do general plumbing repairs, e.g. toilets, drain lines, washbowls and drinking fountains, etc.
- Able to operate tractor and mower to cut grass at all buildings
- Able to maintain building exteriors and grounds
- Able to repair desks and bleachers, etc.
- Able to repair doors, and replace window and door glass
- Able to perform snow plowing of parking lots, etc. at all buildings
- Able to repair and clean unit ventilators
- Able to do painting with the use of ladders required (not afraid of heights)
- Willing to enroll in approved courses or training programs to help in the performance of various maintenance tasks
- Able to assemble and install furniture and equipment
- Able to do heavy lifting
- Required to have own set of tools
- Work with the Supervisor of Building & Grounds and principals to actively create and maintain a safe work and learning environment for students, staff, and the public in all district schools and grounds
- Able to perform related work and tasks as directed by the Supervisor of Building & Grounds
- Able to perform all duties as outlined in the Custodial/Maintenance contract
- Must be in good physical condition and able to work at varying heights by climbing ladders, stepladders, scaffolding, etc.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds up and down stairways and length of hallways as needed
