Sr Engineer – Anhydrous Ammonia Specialist

What You Will Be Doing

To provide a safe and clean work environment for all visitors and associates at the Melrose Park Distribution Center. The role involves 24‑hour, 7‑day responsibility to manage warehouse facilities, equipment, and building and facility associates to ensure accurate, economical, and efficient operation. All functions are performed within the Company’s, Distribution Center’s, Department’s, and applicable federal, state, and local agency guidelines.

The position is based in Melrose Park, IL with a hybrid work schedule.

• Repair all material handling equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatics, and electronic systems.
• Perform maintenance and repair functions in all facilities on the Melrose Park Complex, including automated and mechanized material handling equipment (conveyors, cranes, balers, etc.), general building repairs (lights, plumbing, doors, etc.), grounds upkeep (pavement, fencing, parking areas, etc.) and snow removal/ice melt applications.
• Identify recyclable items and separate them as necessary (scrap metal/iron, all types of batteries, etc.).
• Possess basic knowledge of fire protection/suppression system operations in all Complex facilities.

• Experience working with anhydrous ammonia.
• Ability to operate work‑related equipment and tools (hand and power) including powered equipment, forklifts, man‑lifts, pallet jacks, and all types of testing equipment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Professional interaction with all warehouse employees.
• Ability to perform repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance, repair, and service duties.
• Manual dexterity, coordination, and good balance for work at both ground level and in high places.
• Mental alertness to ensure safe and accurate completion of work activities.
• Ability to learn and follow Company and Distribution Center policies and procedures covering work orders, purchase requisitions/orders, spare parts, and supplies inventories.
• Ability to read and understand labeling on hazardous materials and equipment in the facility(s).
