Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic
Peak Season Repair Specialist at Safelite provides a pathway to full‑time employment by using industry‑leading technology to repair vehicle glass. The role emphasizes a positive attitude, strong customer service, and a commitment to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities- Learn vehicle glass repair in classroom and hands‑on training, focusing on the Safelite Way of Fitting.
- Repair chips, cracks, and other auto‑glass issues on customer vehicles.
- Manage work orders, documentation, and customer communication through Safelite handheld Mobile Resource Management (MRM) technology; promote and sell Safelite promotional items.
- Clean and perform housekeeping tasks for customer vehicles during wait or idle time.
- Operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals safely.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay up to $20 per hour.
- Paid training and all tools and resources required for success.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license (required).
- Completion of Safelite Safe Tech™ certification (required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lb; assist with windshields 26–50 lb.
- Stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Operate a motor vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws; be monitored via camera/video surveillance.
- Maintain professionalism and passion for outstanding customer service.
- Work outside in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
- Handle chemicals, including flammable, in accordance with the Safelite Way of Fitting.
- Work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times.
- Problem‑solve independently and collaboratively.
- Read, write, and interpret English and technical directions.
- Communicate orally (phone) and in writing (computer or other electronic means).
- Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to uniform and PPE policies.
- Work under professional or personal pressure and maintain stable performance.
This position involves driving duties that will be monitored through cameras, GPS, and other tracking technologies to ensure safety and compliance.
