Rink Attendant

Spectate Group, part of the Nicholas Family of Companies, is seeking a Rink Attendant at Nicholas Sportsplex in Mount Prospect. The Rink Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across the ice surface and facility grounds while ensuring a high standard of customer service and facility upkeep during public skating sessions, hockey games, private rentals, and special events.

This role also provides light facility maintenance, assists with building oversight, monitors safety conditions, and supports crowd control during high-traffic events and on-ice programs, helping deliver a positive experience for all guests.

• Perform ice resurfacing using a Zamboni.
• Provide building supervision and ensure overall safety of guests and staff.
• Maintain crowd control during on-ice activities and large events.
• Perform routine custodial and light maintenance duties as assigned.
• Prepare and clear event spaces, including equipment setup and removal.
• Provide scorekeeping services for adult league games.
• Follow all safety and security procedures and protocols.
• Assist renters and guests in a courteous and professional manner.
• Participate in snow removal operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership, including the Rink Attendant Team Lead, Facilities Manager, or Director of Facilities.

• Experience with ice resurfacing and general rink maintenance.
• Knowledge of housekeeping, ice maintenance, and facility operations.
• Strong understanding of safety practices and procedures.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to support daily operational needs and team initiatives.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
