Purpose Statement As a Janitor at Rich's Niles plant, you help create a clean, safe, and organized environment that supports food safety, associate wellbeing, and operational excellence. This role plays an important part in maintaining shared spaces, preventing hazards, and supporting the daily experience of associates, visitors, vendors, and customers throughout the facility. This position is Weekend Only, 5th shift, occurring Fri
- Sun from 430p-6a

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout offices, hallways, locker rooms, breakrooms, restrooms, and common areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and buff floors to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Remove trash and recycling from designated areas and ensure proper disposal procedures are followed
  • Empty, clean, sanitize, and reline waste and recycling receptacles
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, walls, and floors
  • Refill soap, sanitizer, paper towels, tissue, air fresheners, and other janitorial supplies as needed
  • Clean windows, doors, vents, tables, desks, microwaves, refrigerators, vending areas, and other shared surfaces
  • Maintain cleanliness around entrances, smoking areas, and exterior walkways as assigned
  • Retrieve, transport, and stock janitorial or facility supplies from storage areas
  • Identify and report safety concerns, maintenance issues, spills, leaks, or damaged equipment promptly
  • Support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) by following site expectations related to hygiene, personal appearance, and contamination prevention
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, chemical handling guidelines, and sanitation standards
  • Assist with special cleaning projects, shutdown cleaning, or additional facility support as assigned
  • Support a positive team environment through flexibility, communication, and accountability
  • Work overtime, weekends, holidays, or adjusted schedules as business needs require

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, facilities, or industrial cleaning experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working around varying temperatures, noise levels, and active manufacturing operations
  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and tools
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 55 lbs.

Compensation

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is a reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location. Annual Range/Hourly Rate $19.00 - $19.00
