Hour wage: $20.70/hour during probationary period. $21.00/hour after probation.
Job DescriptionSummary:
Keeps premises of commercial, retail, airport, hospitality, healthcare, convention centers/arenas, or other institutional buildings in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.
- Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
- Sweeps, scrubs, finishes, and polishes the floor.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Dusts furniture and equipment.
- Polishes metalwork.
- Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
- Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets, empties, and cleans ashtrays.
- Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
Education / Experience: No prior experience or training.
Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.
Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide by tens and hundreds. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Certificates and Licenses: No certifications needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions. While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/ or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
