Apartment Maintenance Technician BG Staffing | Park Forest, IL 60466

BG Staffing is seeking an experienced and dependable Apartment Maintenance Technician to support a large multifamily community in Park Forest, Illinois. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in delivering quality service, and has a strong background in multifamily property maintenance.

We are looking for a motivated individual who can work independently, effectively manage daily maintenance responsibilities, and help ensure residents enjoy a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment.

Position Details

Location: Park Forest, IL 60466

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Industry: Multifamily Property Management

Position Type: Apartment Maintenance Technician (Non-Certified)

Position Summary

The Apartment Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining apartment homes, common areas, and community facilities while ensuring service requests are completed efficiently and professionally. This role requires a maintenance professional who is comfortable working at a large multifamily property and has experience handling a wide variety of maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate is dependable, resourceful, and committed to providing exceptional service to residents and property management teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete resident service requests and maintenance work orders in a timely manner
  • Perform apartment turns and prepare vacant units for new residents
  • Conduct vacant unit inspections and identify repair needs
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing-related issues
  • Perform lighting repairs and basic electrical troubleshooting
  • Complete repairs in common areas and amenity spaces
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs
  • Repair doors, locks, fixtures, cabinetry, drywall, and other building components as needed
  • Maintain the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of the property
  • Communicate effectively with residents, vendors, and management staff
  • Follow all safety policies and property maintenance standards
Qualifications

Previous multifamily apartment maintenance experience is required

Experience performing:

  • General maintenance repairs
  • Apartment turns and make-readies
  • Vacant unit inspections
  • Plumbing repairs and troubleshooting

    Lighting and electrical troubleshooting
  • Common-area repairs
  • Preventative maintenance

Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Dependable attendance and professional attitude

Comfortable working within a large apartment community

Strong customer service and communication skills

Ability to lift, carry, and move tools, equipment, and maintenance materials as needed

Must have and maintain a personal set of tools necessary to perform daily maintenance tasks

Dress Code Requirements

To maintain a professional appearance within the community, all maintenance personnel must adhere to the following attire guidelines:

  • Khaki pants or black work pants
  • Professional, clean work shirt
  • No logoed, branded, or promotional hats
  • Closed-toe work shoes or work boots appropriate for maintenance duties
