Environmental Services Technician II Second Shift

Full‑time

40 hours per week (3:00 pm – 11:30 pm)

$19.80 – $29.70 per hour

• Scrub, polish, and refine hospital floors using appropriate equipment and supplies.
• Operate mechanical and electrical cleaning equipment (e.g., ringers, vacuums, floor machines, sweepers).
• Analyze floor or carpet conditions and determine proper cleaning techniques following department processes.
• Maintain hard surface floors and carpets following department process.
• Exhibit timely and satisfactory completion of all job assignments.
• Exercise initiative by seeking additional tasks from group leader or other associates when time permits.
• Use and maintain equipment, keeping it clean and in good repair; keep work area orderly, clean, and safe.
• Dispose of waste in a timely manner to assure hospital cleanliness and comply with hazardous and medical waste procedures.
• Collect and transport sharps containers to the waste staging area.
• Collect soiled linen.
• Separate regular and recycle trash according to procedure; operate waste compactors safely and efficiently; clean and sanitize all garbage/waste disposal containers.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 1–2 years of prior housekeeping experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to operate small electrical equipment (vacuum cleaners).
• Excellent customer service skills and effective communication in English.

Job responsibilities involve walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting throughout the work day. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance; for lifts over 35 pounds, use lifting equipment or lift with at least one other associate. Unique lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case‑by‑case basis.
