Laborer – Custodian

Essential Function

Maintains the cleanliness and neat appearance of campus facilities and grounds.

• Education: Basic literacy skills, including reading and writing.
• Experience: Six (6) months experience in housekeeping preferred.

• Cleaning tasks which can include: disinfecting, sweeping, mopping, dusting (furniture and chalk boards), stripping, buffing, waxing, and sealing floors, shampooing carpets, window washing.
• Receives and carries out work orders completing any associated paperwork.
• Helps supervisors train new employees in housekeeping procedures.
• Maintains outside grounds including sweeping and snow shoveling/blowing sidewalks and driveways.
• Moves and straightens up furniture for cleaning and set-up for events.
• Restocks soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and any other regularly used bathroom supplies.
• Empties trash receptacles and replace bags.
• Maintains cleaning equipment and cleaning supplies.
• Fulfills special cleaning requests.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
