MAINTENANCE STAFF

Job Focus:
To assist the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds with the management of the district-wide maintenance program.

Line of Supervision:
Responsible to and evaluated by the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides service on a district-wide basis, as assigned.

Assist the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds in maintaining all district vehicles and power equipment and follows a regular schedule of servicing for each such vehicle.

Assists the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds in maintaining all buildings by making sure they are kept in good order and fire safe.

Assists the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds in making sure that all supplies, parts, or tools are inventoried, properly stored and serviceable.

When necessary, brings to the attention of the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds, the need for purchases of supplies or equipment as needed.

Assists with snow removal, if so requested by the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.

Performs all such duties that relate to maintenance, as requested by the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.

Insures safety of all students/staff, while on school property.

Breach of this trust shall be grounds for dismissal.

Performs such other duties as may be requested by the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds or the Superintendent of Schools.

Minimum Qualifications:

Be of good health and character.
Be experienced in custodial or maintenance functions.
Has a high aptitude and skill in and for electrical, mechanical, heating or cooling systems.
Be a licensed driver.
Be knowledgeable of the present state of equipment and system maintenance.
Be willing to learn new skills and follow directions.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.

TERMS

OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve months per year. Salary and other benefits as established by the Board of Education.
