Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Reports To:
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will report to the Client Services Supervisor, Client Services Manager, or equivalent leadership.
This role involves working in a mail facility or similar environment, providing high quality customer service and supporting all tasks required for the site, including routes, receiving, mail services, shipping, floaters, freight coordination & logistics, loading dock operations, and customer service/help desk. Must cross-train across all functions and support business needs; may also assist with waste and eWaste programs.
Responsibilities and Qualifications- 3 years of experience working in a mail facility or similar background.
- Valid driver's license; must be at least 25 years of age.
- Strong computer skills: scheduling or calendar software, logistics tracking software (experience with Bear Tracks is a plus), database software, Numbers or Excel, and Pages or Word.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Effective organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time‑management skills.
- Material handling skills, including use of motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push, pull equipment, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach above shoulders.
- Background and experience working in a warehouse or loading dock environment with exposure to varied weather conditions.
- Cross‑trained to support all tasks required for that site and able to troubleshoot issues related to tracking software, secure lockers, and other tools & technology used by the SRM team.
- Superior communication skills and ability to summarize and share relevant information clearly to all levels.
- Sense of urgency and quick response to emails, texts, and phone calls to provide high standard of service to customers and colleagues.
