Maintenance Specialist

Summary:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager performs general maintenance.

The Poplar Creek Public Library District is seeking a full-time Maintenance Specialist. This position assists with general building repairs/maintenance as well as moving equipment and furniture and assisting other departments as necessary. Other duties include, but not limited to, electrical repair, plumbing, painting, cleaning, landscaping, etc. Responsible for opening/closing the building.

Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions, ability to bend, stoop, or climb to reach items, ability to lift 50 lbs., pull/push 200 lbs., and move heavy objects.

High School diploma or GED. Successful experience in custodial and building maintenance. Plumbing and electrical experience a plus. Must have a valid driver’s license, in good standing, with proof of auto insurance.

Schedule to be determined, but includes days, evenings, and weekend rotation. Schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the library.
