The Maintenance Planner role provides maintenance planning support for the Maintenance Department. This role ensures readiness for maintenance outages and proactive maintenance. This role also uses effective planning to increase employee utilization during planned outages and provides direction for work performed on all equipment in the facility.
What You’ll Do- Evaluate incoming work orders with scheduler for value and planning need
- Complete labor and material estimating for scheduled work orders
- Monitor material availability for planned jobs
- Coordinate workload with Maintenance Supervisor Record work order completion against equipment records
- Structure jobs to utilize 4-hour maintenance blocks (ie. Starch, Gallon CIL)
- Establish and maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program
- Document new equipment PMs and modify existing PMs based on failures
- Schedule PM and record completion against equipment records (CMMS)
- Analyze production and maintenance processes and methods; recommend and implement changes and new programs to improve reliability
- Develop processes and training to implement TPM within the departments served
- Coordinate parts identification and purchasing for jobs
- Work with storeroom clerk to control inventory
- Establish CMMS reports and publish monthly summaries to management of maintenance performance
- Some weekend work may be required
- Other duties as required
- Analytical skills will be required to analyze current and future systems
- Prioritization skills will be required when setting priority codes in the work order system
- Good customer service skills will be required when dealing with internal and external customers
- Must be cost conscious to get the best resources on repairs and preventative maintenance issues
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in Maintenance; prior experience in maintenance planning or scheduling a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with major maintenance package (MVP Plant, SAP, Oracle, Maxico)

Starting Salary Range: $68,600 - $82,700. The pay range listed represents the target hiring range for this position; however, the actual base pay offered to the best talent and fit for the posted role will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job‑related knowledge, qualifications and skills, relevant experience, geographical location and internal equity. Future compensation decisions for employees in this role will utilize the full pay range, not solely the typical hiring range.
Compensation is adjusted based on the candidate’s local labor market and may vary within this range.
