Electronic Repair Technician

Overview

Electronic Repair Technician may be designated as level I, II, or III and will troubleshoot and repair simple to complex technical problems on NC Controls, PCBs, servo drives, spindle drives, inverters, PLCs, power supplies, and monitors. Read and use schematics and wiring diagrams to aid in repairs. Test functionality of each unit repaired. Perform component level repairs using soldering and troubleshooting skills.

Use test equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, and fixtures to ensure complete and proper repair of each unit. Must be detail oriented and able to work in a team environment.

• Perform simple to complex repairs depending on level and some non-standard repairs on assigned products, including disassembly, cleaning, repair, and assembly as needed.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and repair simple to complex technical problems to component level using advanced technical skills, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Update and maintain complete and accurate records of work in Repair Tracker and company software, describing the work performed, diagnostics, parts replaced, tests performed and results.
• Complete scheduled evaluations and determine required parts and work by following established procedures.
• Conduct repair tests as required by company procedures.
• Order parts as necessary for each unit processed.
• Provide supervisor with daily updates of schedule conflicts.
• Prioritize task assignments directed by the Supervisor and/or Lead.
• Maintain tools and keep toolbox and work area clean and organized.
• Participate and attend training to increase product knowledge and safety training.
• Perform routine daily inspection and maintenance of repair and testing equipment.
• Maintain repair efficiency set forth by technician level guidelines.

• High School Diploma and Technical School Certification required.
• Associate’s Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• Prior experience working with electronic components preferred.
• Computer and math skills, and ability to enter data.
• Good knowledge of electricity and electronics.
• Strong troubleshooting techniques to identify problems.
• Ability to evaluate and fill out computer related work orders accurately.
• Knowledge and use of manual and electrical hand tools.
• Excellent organizational and housekeeping skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Flexible schedule, may include off-shift hours and weekend assignments.
• Speak, read, and write English.

• Stamina to work all assigned hours.
• Walking, standing, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 40 pounds, and repetitive motions.
• Ability to hear for instruction and information.
• 20/40 vision with or without correction and ability to distinguish colors.
• Use of hands 100% of the workday.

• Full Time: 40 hr/week, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm.
• Overtime hours may vary: 7:00am–8:00am and 4:30pm–7:30pm Monday–Friday, and 7:30am–4:00pm Saturday.
