HudsonWay Immersion School:
Mandarin & Spanish immersion programs in Midtown West, NYC and in Stirling NJ (in Long Hill Township, Morris County): The mission of HWIS is to develop global citizens ready to Navigate the World®, and that begins in our Preschool. Beginning at an early age takes advantage of a critical window in which the young mind is receptive to certain types of input, including language. Students learn subject matter (math, science, social studies, and language arts) using the target language as the vehicle.

Spanish & Chinese Language Immersion Programs for Kids:
Immersion Education is a model in which students learn subject matter (math, science, social studies, and language arts) using the target language as the vehicle. The long-term benefits include enhanced mental development, flexibility in thinking and reasoning, and greater cultural sensitivity. 


Mandarin & Spanish After School
Our After School programs provide a fun and effective way for children to learn Mandarin or Spanish language skills. Teachers use theme-based learning along with hands-on activities to engage students. Classes are offered from 4:00 to 5:30 pm one to three days a week at our NJ campus and one or two days a week from 3:45-5:45pm at the NY campus.

Mandarin Afternoon Preschool (NY Only)
Like our full-time day school preschool, Afternoon Preschool offers a relaxed environment using a full immersion approach to learning. Students can join 2, 3 or 5 afternoons per week, 1:30 to 3:30 PM.

Mandarin & Spanish Mommy & Me
Our Mommy & Me program for ages 1-3 provides a 100% Mandarin or Spanish immersion environment to introduce your child to the sounds and tones of a second language at a critical age for language learning. Through movement, music and storytelling your child begins to experience learning in a new language. Each session is focused on a story theme, such as Goldilocks and the Three Bears, so that learning is contextualized.

Mandarin & Spanish Immersion Preschool & K-5
An innovative immersion approach enables students to learn content in two languages, empowering them to become bilingual, bi-cognitive and bi-cultural. Starting as young as age 2. Open Houses and Private tours available.

Mandarin & Spanish Preschool Immersion Summer Camp
HWIS Summer Camp is a great place for young children to spend their summer weeks. As children are immersed in Mandarin or Spanish, they will make friends and participate in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, learning about the Chinese and Spanish cultures. Supervised by our professional and talented staff, children will  gain an understanding and appreciation of different Chinese or Latin American cultures by taking part in a program that will include art, music, cooking, water play and many other hands-on activities.

Mandarin & Spanish K & Up Immersion Summer Camp
This summer, campers at HWIS will travel to Mandarin or Spanish-speaking regions around the world engaging in science and culture oriented learning. Classrooms will transform into rainforests, deserts, and even the Silk Road! Within each landscape, campers will explore the region’s natural and cultural characteristics through science, art, music, cooking, and other hands-on activities. Topics will include: the habitat of giant pandas, the life cycle and importance of silkworms, the ecology of different forests, and much more!

Experienced, native speaking teachers lead activities in a 100% Mandarin or Spanish immersion environment supporting campers of all language levels.
