Summer Gardening Camps for Kids in Queens NY

Summer Program at the HSBC Children's Garden at QBG:
Located in Flushing, Queens NY, the HSBC Children’s Garden at Queens Botanical Garden provides hands-on summer gardening camps for kids ages 5-12. We aim to teach them about nature, gardens, and plants in a fun and engaging way, while they enjoy playing in this beautiful environment. We also offer spring and fall programs for young gardeners.

Hands-on Learning:
Our mission is to have the children learning by doing. All sessions combine practical gardening activities with environmental education.

Small Class Sizes:
Enrollment is limited to 25-28 children, who are then divided into 3 groups, based on their age and abilities. We allocate one supervising counselor and two or three interns to each group, so you can be assured that your child will get the individual attention they need.

Qualified Staff:
Every supervising counselor has taken training not only on the curriculum for the classes, but also on age-appropriate education.

Open Rain or Shine:
If we experience bad weather, we will simply modify our curriculum for the day so that we can stay indoors. However, we will still go outside if there is a light rain or if the weather is hot, so please ensure that your child is dressed accordingly.

Our summer programs for kids take place in July & August, and are held 2 days a week from 9am to 4pm. Your child can attend on Mondays & Wednesdays or Tuesdays & Thursdays.

Your child is welcome to:

- attend the full 7-week program
- attend for July only
- attend for August only

We also offer spring and fall programs for young gardeners.
