The Fulton School at St. Albans, Missouri:
Located just outside of Wildwood, Missouri in the Midwestern United States, The Fulton School at St. Albans is a small, independent school for toddlers through 12th grade preparing students for higher education and a lifetime of learning. TFS offers international students a tremendous opportunity to participate in a culturally rich, immersive education through our International Student ESL “English as a Second Language” program. Our academic program (7th through 12th Grade) combines learning English with a true rigorous academic curriculum.
The ESL Program at The Fulton School provides
- Full English language support, focusing on grammar/writing (contextualized grammar) and tailored to the students' courses at TFS
- Weekend cultural activities to immerse students in American life (pumpkin patch, skiing, landmarks, college tours, capitol)
- Opportunities to play soccer, basketball, track, tennis and golf (on one of the top golf courses in the state)
- Opportunities to travel abroad with the school and other American students (Europe and Central America) in conjunction with TFS curriculum
- Small, nurturing environment where students will find a home away from home
- Ambassador Program - TFS families adopt international students to bring them to their homes for homemade food, family time, and outings
Academics
The ESL Program enjoys the benefits of our Block by Design program, studying three academic courses at a time. Students focus on Spanish, Math, and History and then Spanish, English, and Science for four week blocks. They have a chance to process and reflect on new material with daily fine arts and physical education. The block design creates almost 50% more classtime, allowing students to learn through more creative, project-based methods.
