Arrowhead Christian Academy:
Arrowhead Christian Academy (ACA), located in Glendale, Arizona (near the Phoenix city line), is a private K-12 school offering Bible-based training to all students. Our purpose is to offer a Biblically based education preparing the students to serve the Lord in the ministry or in a career of His leading. ACA was founded in 2000 with the prayer that God would use the school to raise up young people that will serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
Curriculum:
It is our desire of ACA to provide the best curriculum in each subject and each grade that we possibly can, geared toward the average to above-average student. Curriculum is evaluated yearly and may require occasional changes in textbooks. We appreciate your flexibility in this matter as we strive for excellence in all areas. Book and curriculum lists are available in the office. Textbooks rented from ACA must be covered. No extra writing is allowed on book covers. For the sake of uniformity, the King James Version of the Bible is used in the classroom and chapels.
Curriculum and Classroom:
Curriculum and classroom instruction is designed to promote and develop a Biblical world view. We currently use curriculum from Bob Jones University Press, A Beka, and other publishers. Curriculum is routinely evaluated.
Promotion and Retention:
All decisions regarding promotion/retention rest with the administration for students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.Failing grades in core academic subjects (Bible, English, math, science, history, reading/phonics) must be made up in approved summer school courses before a student will pass to the next grade.
We provide a comprehensive K-12 curriculum that includes:
Science:
Science is taught from a literal six day creation/young earth view. Students will be exposed to other theories of origins as theories.
Physical Education:
A consistent physical education program is offered for students in third through twelfth grade. Students are encouraged to work hard and accept the challenges of physical activity because many valuable life-long lessons can be learned through athletics.
Interscholastic Sports:
Interscholastic sports provide a unique opportunity for both godly character development as well as athletic progress in the lives of our students. Participation in such activities is a privilege and is subject to school guidelines.
Music Program:
Arrowhead Christian Academy's growing music program will work to develop an appreciation for God-honoring music as well as the skills to participate in the ministry of music.
