The University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business offers an 18-month executive leadership and development program in Beijing, China that is provided by some of the most highly-regarded American professors in Beijing. Fully accredited by the AACSB and Chinese Ministry of Education, the EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) program is taught in English to students from around the world. Our classes are conveniently located on the UIBE campus in Beijing's Chaoyang district, close to the city's Embassy and Central Business District. The Leadership EMBA in China focuses on developing senior leaders  with a strategic vision and preparing you to go back to your organization and deliver impact. The executive skills you develop here are the skills you need to successfully lead in today’s complex, global environment.

The core business disciplines are covered in depth but are taught from an executive perspective. The knowledge is then brought to bear on several action learning projects, where you and your classmates create firms, refine processes and learn how to lead change within those firms. Finally, you will focus on the mastery of leadership skills and competencies— beginning with an array of personal development tools and appraisals—to help establish a baseline and measure your progress throughout the program.

The Leadership EMBA program is delivered by two world-class faculties working together to provide an extraordinary academic experience. It provides students unique views and understanding of business in The United States and China.

EMBA+ Chinese Degree Program:
This 18-month EMBA+ Chinese Program offers the same courses as other University of Maryland EMBA programs, with an additional emphasis on developing fluency in Mandarin Chinese. In the EMBA+ program, instead of work, students focus full time on developing their Chinese language ability, and spend 4 days a month in the classroom environment working on their MBA.

The program is designed to give students the skills to standout in today's tough job market. It is offered in conjunction with FESCO which is one of the most reliable organizations for language study, employment placing, and visa issues in China. Their teachers are all professional Chinese teachers with success at teaching Chinese to non-native speakers.
