Established in 1979, the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine (MCOM) is a fully-accredited Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine school with campuses in Racine WI and Chicago IL. We provide quality certification and degree programs taught by renowned, experienced instructors from China and the United States, that aim to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to become a successful Acupuncture or Oriental Medicine practitioner.
MCOM is approved by the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board and the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
Our Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), a recognized accrediting agency approved by the Secretary of Education.

The focus of our training programs is the integration of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and other modalities with Western Medicine. We aim to provide an education rooted in the historical context and teaching of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine Training Programs:
- Accupuncture:
With full-time and part-time study options are available, this program takes a minimum of 30 months (3 academic years) to complete.
Graduates are awarded a Master Level Certificate in Acupuncture
- Oriental Medicine:
With full-time and part-time study options are available, this program takes a minimum of 36 months (4 academic years) to complete.
Graduates are awarded a combined degree - a Bachelor of Science degree in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Nutrition and a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine (encompassing Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs).
