Italian Language Classes in Washington DC

International Language Institute (ILI) is a language learning institution in the heart of Downtown Washington DC. We provide General Italian language courses to students from around the world from beginner to advanced levels. In addition to our General Italian courses (with 6 proficiency levels), we also provide a specialized Italian for Travelers course, and foreign language courses in French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, Chinese, and English (ESL). On successful completion of the group language program with the required attendance and 'Passing grade' achieved, students can receive a Certificate.

Italian Language Classes for Adults:
For Beginners to Advanced Level Students

Regular group classes meet once weekly (or twice for the accelerated class) in the evening or on Saturday mornings for 10 weeks.

We are offering three Basic levels, three Intermediate levels and the Italian for Travelers program. Each session is 2.5 hours.

• Four 10-week terms per year

• Small class size (max. 9 students)
• Experienced, native-speaking teachers

We issue Certificates at the end of each semester. In order for students to be eligible to receive a certificate (or progress to the next level), they are required to attend a minimum of 70% of the classes, and achieve a “Passing” grade.

Italian for Travelers:
Traveler classes meet once weekly for 2.5 hours for 5 weeks. Using a phrase book/travelers guide, students practice basic phrases for everyday use while traveling, through in-classroom role-plays.

This enables them to communicate instantly on a host of topics: essential services, health and medical situations, hotel check-ins, plane and train travel, restaurants, shopping, and much more.
