Learning Italian - for International Students

Situated just 5km from Italy's Adriatic coast, 2 hours east of Rome, Nuova Arcadia School of Italian Language and Italian Culture provides beginner to advanced level Italian language and culture courses to foreign students.

Coherently with our approach, the courses are made for classes of no more than 10-15 students and divided into LEVELS according to the Common European Framework of Reference for language:

- Level A (A1, A2): basic user;
- Level B (B1, B2): indipendent user;
- Level C (C1, C2): proficent user.

Our Language study holidays:

- Accommodation (included in the price) in independent houses

- Excursions all over Abruzzo and some other tour towards important and beautiful cities such as Rome, Florence and Venice

- Cultural courses and activities like: lectures and seminars about the history of the language,italian literature, art history, architecture and Italian  design tradition, creative writing, photography and theater  workshops, Italian cinema, courses in enology and gastronomy, Italian folklore, music and singing courses

- Leisure activities like: welcome party, folk and musical performances, dinners in typical restaurants, outdoor activities, recreational and educational workshops, visits to theater, opera, art galleries, museums and music festivals.

Our teachers are all graduated in humanistic literature and they have many years of experience in teaching Italian language in Italy and abroad.

They work for important publishing houses and newspaper and all of them are examiners PLIDA, CELI and CILS; all of them have got DITALS certificate, the certification of competence in teaching Italian to foreigners.

All of them use the called "Communicative Approach" the goal of this approach is to teach students the new language through classroom activities that engage students in the process of negotiating meaning in everyday conversations, rather than in teacher-directed repetitions of contrived dialogues.

Culture and language are intimately related, language can be viewed as a verbal expression of culture and The BEST way to learn any new language is, of course, immersion or living where the language is spoken.

For this reason an important role of the courses are our cultural and leisure activities of various kinds and content. Developed in collaboration with artists, teachers and professionals, the aim of our activities is to give to the students a complete picture of Italy.

Our activities includes seminars on literature, history of art and design, folklore and popular traditions, gastronomy and wine taster with tours to wineries and olive oil factories; as well: music, speech, theater and photography workshops, cinema and much more.

The activities will be graded according to the degree of knowledge and language skills of the students.

The available accommodation  for our students, included in the price of the course, are all located in the center of Casalbordino, quite close to the school and to the main services such as supermarkets, shopping center, bus stop, banks, pharmacy, medical center, bars, pizzerias.

The students will live in independent houses for maximum 4-5 people, in double room, with shared use of kitchen, laundry and bathroom. All houses are provided with TV, fully equipped kitchen, linens and towels, some of them with air-conditioned and wi fi.

The school, for a small extra charge, offer the opportunity for accommodation in single room, in host family, B&B or Hotel.

The houses are comfortable, spacious, efficient and functional, made in Italian architectural tradition, furnished with taste and elegance to make you feel as a true Italian during of your stay and beyond.

New Arcadia has its headquarters at Casalbordino, in Abruzzo, the green heart of Italy.

Nuova Arcadia Italian Language School for foreigners has its headquarters in Casalbordino, in a modern building in the centre of the town and in an elegant palace with meeting room and public library.

Our headquarters are provided with multimedia supports, cine-movie, library, teaching materials, internet point, and all is available for the students for free.
