Mount Michael Benedictine School, Omaha area:
Located in Elkhorn, Douglas County, Nebraska, Mount Michael Benedictine School is a Catholic boarding and day school for boys (Grades 9-12). Our high school was created for the purpose of helping to shape young men. We truly believe in our mission, trusting that the surest - perhaps the only - way to change the world is to work through our youth.

Academics:
During his teenage years it is important that a young man concentrate on his education. This, then, provides the focus for Mount Michael's program.

We offer an unsurpassed academic experience for students, challenging them with a fast-paced college-preparatory curriculum that rates amongst the best schools in the nation. Our program is designed to provide students with the structure and discipline they will need to succeed in college and the workplace.

At Mount Michael, we believe that every young man needs the gift of challenge to reach his full academic potential. Our rigorous college prep curriculum is designed to provide this challenge.

Classes are small and every student's progress is monitored closely. Our motivated student body and our strong faculty work closely together to create an atmosphere of academic intensity.

Mount Michael provides the solid, core curriculum that competitive colleges demand. All students are required to take four years of math, science, English, social studies, and theology. Although only two years of a foreign language are required at this time, students are strongly encouraged to take four.

Advanced Placement Courses:
The majority of Mount Michael students earn college credits by taking Advanced Placement (AP) classes. These include AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP English, AP Spanish, AP French, AP American History, AP European History, AP Computer Programing.

College Preparation Courses:
At Mount Michael students can take both SAT and ACT College Preparation Courses.

Athletics:
To foster involvement and the development of talent, all freshmen are required to participate in a fall sport and a spring sport or an intra-mural activity. At Mount Michael, we believe that every student can find valuable lessons of sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play by participating in athletics.

In addition to its intra-mural program, Mount Michael offers the following varsity sports: Football, Cross Country, Tennis, Basketball, Soccer, Track, Golf, Wrestling, and American Legion Baseball.
