The Shenker Academy:
The Shenker Academy, located in North Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada, is a non-denominational Preschool and Kindergarten offering programs for children aged 12 months - 6 years old. Our Kindergarten is licensed by the Clark County School District. The Academy implements the Multiple Intelligence Theory which responds to the different learning styles of each individual student. This innovative educational philosophy defines eight different intelligences.
The Toddler Program (12 months - 2.5 years):
The Toddler Program is taught by teachers familiar with the infant/toddler stages of development. By using the Multiple Intelligence Theory, planned activities that promote language development, phonological awareness, physical development, creative thinking, sensory awareness, and self-help skills are implemented throughout the day.
The 2 Year-old Program (2-3 years):
The 2 year-old preschool programs introduce the children to an array of hands-on exploration experiences. The teachers understand the development of the 2 year-old and use the Multiple Intelligence Theory accordingly. Two year-olds strive for independence and the classroom environment reflects lots of opportunities for them to build it.
Preschool Program (3-4 years):
Our teachers, who understand the stages in development of each age group, use the Multiple Intelligence Theory to teach our preschool programs. These years are the time to develop language skills, literacy awareness, phonemic awareness, early math concepts, higher levels of creative thinking and problem-solving, self-help skills, emotional self-control, and a deeper understanding of the world they live in.
Kindergarten Program (5-6 years):
Our full-day kindergarten and First Grade, taught by professional school teachers, prepares children for some our top private elementary schools by using the Multiple Intelligence Theory. Reading and writing concepts, language skills that include vocabulary, phonemic awareness, and creative thought is stressed. Hands-on science experiences, number and math concepts that help children develop a higher level of thinking and problem solving are taught on a daily basis.

Situated in Minden NV (Douglas County), 20 minutes south of Carson City, Little Discoveries Early Learning Center is a family owned and operated daycare facility with a 4-5 year old Pre-K program. Licensed by the State Of Nevada, we offer full and part time care for children ages 6 weeks through 6 years.
