Hillcrest Christian School:
Situated in south-west Jackson, Hinds County MS, Hillcrest Christian School is a a non-denominational, non-sectarian, co-ed day school. We offer programs for K-3 through 12th grade which includes an excellent after-school program. We are a distinctly Christian school, encouraging each student to develop a Christian world view based on the biblical truths that never change. Our curriculum is college preparatory and each graduate is expected to be accepted to at least one college or university of his or her choice.
College Preparatory Co-ed Day School Programs:
Our programs are sequential beginning at Pre-K3 and continue through 12th grade. Academically, we expect our students to master the knowledge and skills needed to assure their success in college.
- Lower School (K3 – 6th Grade)
In K3 and K4 we use the Wee Learn, Handwriting Without Tears, and the A Beka curriculums. First, Second, and third grades are taught using A Beka, McGraw-Hill and the Positive Action Bible series.
Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth grade students use A Beka and McGraw-Hill in the regular curriculum.
- Junior High (7th – 8th Grade)
Our Junior High school is made up of adolescents in grades 7 and 8. Each students brings to the junior high a uniqueness that is celebrated and valued.
We believe in the development of each student academically, physically and spiritually. Through a caring, nurturing environment, the junior high serves as a bridge that will guide them through their growth years.
- Upper School (9th – 12th Grade)
HCS offers a curriculum that meets or exceeds all major university admission standards. Our traditional college prep curriculum is enhanced by Advanced and Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
Advanced placement students may earn many of their freshman college credits while attending HCS. The testing program consists of the ACT ASPIRE and PSAT which adequately helps prepare our students for the ACT and SAT college entrance tests.
