Established in 2005, Jeffreys Bay Language School is an English language school in Eastern Cape, South Africa, 700 km up the East Coast from Cape Town. Our closest international airport is in Port Elizabeth, 80 km from Jeffreys Bay. We are a gateway to two of South Africa's top tourist routes, namely the Garden Route leading to Cape Town, and the Sunshine Coast between Port Elizabeth and Durban. Our English courses follow the New Headway series from Oxford University Press while our exam preparation courses are compliant with the Cambridge standards. Our courses include General English, Business English, Intensive English and more. They are suitable for students of all levels - beginner, intermediate or advanced.

Jeffreys Bay Language School is affiliated to SAYTC and EduSA, the national governing bodies of language schools in South Africa. These bodies ensure that language schools in South Africa maintain quality courses and that all teachers are qualified in ESL teaching.
We have a variety of accommodation options on offer. Our student residence is probably the firm favourite as it is conveniently situated in the same road as the school just 2 minutes walk away from the school and the beach and adds to the all round experience students share. Our host families are a great option for those who wish to live within a South African family environment.
Our third accommodation option is at Island Vibe backpackers, part of Jeffreys Bay Language School consortium. It is also situated in the same road as the school, but is different to the residence in that it offers en suite rooming options. Island Vibe Backpackers facilities are available to student whether they live there or not, namely the surf lessons, restaurant and bar, sport equipment hire and more.
Location:
Jeffreys Bay, or Jbay as it is affectionately known, is a popular year round holiday destination for local and international visitors. During the summer months tourists enjoy the stretches of golden beaches, excellent swimming conditions and a variety of water sports while in winter the surf pulls in and town becomes a surfers paradise.
Jeffreys Bay is famous for its surfing and boasts the longest right hand break in the world. We host one of the well known international surf competitions each year, namely the Billabong Pro which sees the top 45 surfers of the world competing.

Situated in Plettenberg Bay in the heart of the adventure capital of South Africa, Garden Route Language Centre specialise in combining language and adventure in a 4 week intensive English course. Our course structure and group participation in adventure activities offer students a maximum learning experience both in and out of the classroom. Our intensive English courses involve 30 hours / week and are restricted to 16 students to ensure personalised attention. The course is divided into 2 classes, (pre-intermediate/intermediate) and (intermediate/upper intermediate). All transport to and from adventure activities are inclusve.
We offer our students a unique combination of language and adventure. Our school is in Plettenberg Bay which is the adventure capital of South Africa. The Knowledge Workshop (TKW) is an international language and skills centre based in the vibey suburb of Observatory, Cape Town in South Africa. TKW was conceived by Marian James and Paul Salmon in 2006, fuelled by a passion for teaching and a shared social conscience.
