Business English:

Business English courses can be taken either on an intensive or long-term basis. They are designed to improve international business communication, and emphasise clarity and simplicity.
BLI offers 20 x 50 minute lessons per week in their General English programme and 10 x 50 minute Business English lessons per week, with excellent tuition in small classes (maximum eight students) and a great academic environment. Our programme focuses on developing English communication skills and confidence in using the language. The programme covers the following areas:

Aviation English:

BLI, ATO 0373, offers an intensive Aviation English programme, designed to ensure that non-English speaking trainee pilots and ATCs achieve the levels of English competency required by the International Civil Aviation Organisation for effective radio telephony, as well as equipping them to study and write exams in English. The 4 week course consists of 30 x 50-minute lessons per week, and should be taken by students who have successfully completed Intermediate level exit test (ICAO Level 3 equivalent).


4 week TEFL course:

BLI's 120 hour, full-time TEFL course is designed with the practicalities of teaching people from different cultures in mind. The course covers all relevant aspects of teaching such as lesson preparation, grammar, observation, practice teaching, teaching techniques, textbook reviews, and many more. Our emphasis is on equipping trainees with the real skills required to teach in the often difficult circumstances they will face in the EFL/ESL industry. The school has developed a reputation for excellent quality in this field, and a number of our graduates are willing to testify to this personally.

BLI offers an excellent four week, 120 hour TEFL course in Port Elizabeth in preparation for the Teach English in China programme.

Applicants for the programme must be:

Native English Speakers
Age 18 – 40
In good Health
Adventurous, outgoing and energetic


Exam preparation:

BLI offers preparation for exams, such as IELTS, TOEFL and the Cambridge exams.
