Aztec Aquaplex:
The Aztec Aquaplex, located on the San Diego State University (SDSU) campus in northeastern San Diego, is a recreation center & aquaplex offering year-round public swim lessons to children and adults. The facility hosts three swimming pools: an Olympic-size (50 meter) pool, a Recreational pool and a Hydrotherapy spa. There are also two 3-meter and two 1-meter diving boards. Children under 18 years of age must pass a deep water swim test to use the diving boards.
The Aztec Aquaplex is located on the SDSU campus overlooking Mission Valley at the intersection of Montezuma Road and College Avenue, San Diego, southern California. The Aquaplex is located next to the Tony Gwynn baseball stadium adjacent to the tennis and softball facilities on the west side of the Campus. The facility is accessible from Remington Road "R" Lot.
From the 8 Westbound:
Exit 8 at College. Right on Montezuma Road. Right on 55th Street. Pass the Aztec Recreation Center (on the right) and follow the leftward curve of 55th street; it turns into Remington Road. Turn left into "R" lot which is just past Tony Gwynn Stadium.
From the 15 or 805:
take the 8 Eastbound and follow directions below.
From the 8 Eastbound:
8 East exit at Fairmont /Mission Gorge. Stay in the two right lanes. Follow the signs for Montezuma Road and travel up the hill about 2 miles. As you reach the crest of the mesa, you'll take a left on 55th Street. Pass the Aztec Recreation Center (on the right) and follow the leftward curve of 55th street; it turns into Remington Road. Turn left into "R" lot which is just past Tony Gwynn Stadium.
