Instituto Cervantes, London:
The Instituto Cervantes in London is located in the centre of town in Belgravia, London Borough of Westminster near to Victoria and Sloane Square tube stations. Its history as a Spanish cultural centre goes back over sixty years. The Instituto Cervantes in London is the only official Spanish Government Language Centre, a public institution founded in 1991 to promote Spanish language teaching and knowledge of the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries throughout the world. We offer general Spanish courses, special courses such as conversation, business, teacher training and courses to prepare students for the DELE Diplomas. On-line Spanish courses are also available. There is a full programme of cultural events including lectures, film screenings, book launches, theatre and exhibitions. Studying Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes in London means not only learning the language but also having the opportunity to discover the cultures of the Hispanic world by attending our cultural events.
All our teachers, whose mother tongue is Spanish, are university qualified and use the most up-to-date teaching methods. Our special courses are taught by experts in their fields.

Intensive Spanish; General Spanish; Business Spanish; DELE; Group Spanish Lessons; One-to-One Spanish Tuition. On-line Spanish courses are also available.
Cultural Events:
In addition to teaching general Spanish language courses and special courses, the Instituto Cervantes also aims to promote the culture of Spanish-speaking countries.
There is a full programme of cultural events including lectures, film screenings, book launches, theatre and exhibitions. As a general rule, the events are free and simultaenous translation is provided. Everyone is welcome and there is no need to book.
The Instituto in London works closely with a variety of institutions, companies and public and private organisations from Spain and also the United Kingdom. Every week we provide a meeting place for Spanish and British writers, filmmakers, scientists, historians, architects and specialists from a wide range of disciplines. Our cultural programme includes a wide variety of events from dance and theatre to music, literature, films, art and even gastronomy.
The library collection contains approximately 30,000 books, serialised publications, videos, DVDs, cassettes, slides and CD-Roms. The library's facilities are available to all, although you must be a member in order to borrow items.

Internet Access in the Library:
Members of the library can access the internet in our reading room. Access is limited to sites related to the language and cultures of Spain and Latin America. Accessing and sending emails is not allowed.
Databases and on-line magazines can also be consulted.
Use of the internet and multimedia equipment in the library is limited to 50 minutes per user in the event that there are other people waiting to use these services.
