Langara College Continuing Studies, Vancouver:Langara College Continuing Studies offers two full-time music programs: the one-year
Digital Music Production (DMP) Certificate Program and the 14-week
Singer-Songwriter Certificate Program. Both programs are take place Monday-Friday from 6 PM-10 PM. The courses are taught by instructors who are both experienced educators, as well as active members in the music business as composers, songwriters, producers, arrangers, engineers, re-mixers, DJs, and more. Entry into both programs is based on a short interview and recorded examples of an applicant's work.

An intensive, one-year full-time program training freelance music producers and composers for film, TV, gaming, advertising and multimedia. Entry dates are September and January.
The DMP is a multidisciplinary certificate program designed for the modern independent music producer and composer. With their own mobile production studio and industry-standard music production software, students will develop a wide range of skills including:
- Electronic Music Production
- Music Theory
- Recording and Studio Engineering
- Mixing and Mastering Music
- Composing for Film/Mixed Media/Advertising
- Music Business and Career Planning
Singer-Songwriter Certificate Program
This 14-week is intended to help students develop their own identities as performing songwriters and develop the skills necessary to compete in the music marketplace. Students will learn all aspects of songwriting, improve their theory and abilities to write for any genre and any situation, have the capabilities to record their songs in a home studio, improve their performance techniques in front of a live audience, and understand both the legal and practical aspects of the music business.
The 5 courses are:
- Songwriting for the Singer-Songwriter
- Performance Skills for the Singer-Songwriter
- Music Theory for the Singer-Songwriter
- Basic Digital Recording
- Music Business/Career Planning
The final project for this program is a live performance at a music venue in Vancouver.
