A tropical paradise, Phuket Island is nestled in the warm, azure waters of the Andaman Sea off the south-west coast of Thailand. The island's varied terrain includes long white, sandy beaches, limestone cliffs and colourful coral reefs, forested mountains, waterfalls, and every kind of tropical vegetation imaginable.
Patong Beach is the most developed tourist area on the island, with a wide range of accommodation from simple guesthouses to luxury hotels. The three kilometre sandy beach offers every possible water sport, or you can rent a longtail boat to more secluded beaches or to go snorkelling and swimming around the headlands. Patong provides the most exciting nightlife on Phuket.
