Service Learning:
Brentwood School’s Service Learning Program provides structured opportunities for students in grades K-12 for students to participate in public service. The program is grounded in the school’s desire to develop the character and intellect of our students. Service learning projects enhance student learning by connecting service directly to the curriculum, address important needs in our local and global community, and foster civic responsibility. Through hands-on service experiences in our community, students learn about values including tolerance, diversity and social justice.

Brentwood School has partnerships with many community organizations and the Service Program connects our campus to the greater Los Angeles community. Pre-service discussions and written and oral reflections are key to helping students process their experiences and better understand all that they have to offer others.

Community Outreach:

Brentwood School students engage in numerous service learning projects that benefit the community. Brentwood School is committed to a comprehensive, K-12 service learning program that involves a wide range of activities in and around Los Angeles. As an integral part of a Brentwood School education, students learn that community participation and service are part of their ethical responsibilities as good citizens.

To this end, our students are active with many community organizations, orchestrate varied outreach programs on both campuses, and raise money for worthwhile causes. We also have many student-run service clubs, including Red Cross, Animal Allies, Interact/Rotary Club, What’s Darfur?, Service Learning Club, and Habitat for Humanity.
