Established in Bonn in 1978, the IFS laid in the
heart of the diplomatic quarter the foundation
for an international centre for people from all
over the world. Since 2002, the IFS BONN is

Post-Tower, university students, diplomats, and
experts from international business and science
learn German and exchange intercultural experiences
at the IFS. Indeed, this is the IFS philosophy –

In 2000, the IFS began to offer its full
programme of German as a foreign language (DaF)
courses in Berlin as well. A representative
school building from the turn of the century,
set in a safe, park-like area, is home to the
Institute, located in the middle of Berlin and
still a peaceful place to study. Language
students find modern, cheerful classrooms and advanced computer facilities. Exhibitions and
multicultural events make the IFS Berlin a
