International Summer School for Teens in Scotland & London UK:
International Summer School for Teens offers exclusive 3 week, residential summer courses in Scotland and London, UK in 2024. We specialise in providing a personalised, safe, and friendly educational experience for students aged 12 to 18 years old. We welcome participants of all levels from the UK, Europe, U.S., and around the world. Our camp in Scotland for 12 to 17 year olds is located on the University of Stirling campus (just 40 mins from Edinburgh Airport & 45 mins from Glasgow International Airport), and our summer camp in London, England for 15-18 year olds is located on the Imperial College campus, South Kensington, London.

Academic Classes (in the morning)
Students choose a subject from our academic classes which they will enrol in for the entire 3 week camp:

• Pre-Intermediate English language course (for Beginner levels)
• Intermediate English course (plus IELTS preparation + exam sitting option)
• English Academic Writing: Poetry & English literature (Lessons include sentence structure, vocabulary & grammatical accuracy)
• Study Skills (PRE IB / I-GSCE & SAT exam prep)

Pre-Intermediate English Classes:
- Duration: 3 weeks. 
- Pre-Intermediate / Beginner levels are generally A1-A2 (in accordance The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages / CEFR) 
- Students also choose one creative or sports course from the following: Golf, Tennis, Soccer Football, Sports Leadership, Photography, or Theatre / Drama / Acting techniques.


Designed for students at elementary to pre-intermediate English levels, this summer English course has been developed to significantly improve students language ability over the three weeks of study. Students work in small groups designed to build their confidence in all aspects of English Language including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, writing and colloquial English. Students are encouraged to use their English language skills at all times.

• Students will have the daily opportunity to practice speaking in structured conversations
• Lessons will be project orientated and will require students to present information to the class, using their spoken language skills
• Students will read from modified texts and will learn various strategies to assist with comprehension. They will also develop analytical skills to interpret literature and images.
• Students will be writing on a daily basis, practicing grammar structures and learning new vocabulary. They will write a variety of personal narratives, descriptions, reports, poems and creative fiction.


Intermediate English Course / IELTS Preparation:
• Duration: 3 weeks.
• Suitable for levels B1-B2 in accordance The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages / CEFR.
• Students also choose one creative or sports course from the following: Golf, Tennis, Soccer Football, Sports Leadership, Photography, or Theatre / Drama / Acting techniques.


This summer English course is designed for students at intermediate level who wish to achieve greater fluency and confidence in their spoken English. Students develop their presentation skills and also work on test taking strategies for future English language exams. Students also have the option of taking the IELTS exam (16 years+ only) while at International Summer School for Teens.

Course topics include:
• Reading and comprehension
• Summary and synthesis of text
• Writing clearly and coherently
• Presenting information and ideas
• Communicating as a native speaker
• IELTS test taking.


English Academic Writing Course:
- Duration: 3 weeks. Suitable for advanced level English students.
- Students also choose one creative or sports course from the following: Golf, Tennis, Soccer Football, Sports Leadership, Photography, or Theatre / Drama / Acting techniques.


Aimed at advanced English students ages 13-18 who want to perfect their writing skills for essays and school reports, or preparation for future studies at university or college (Advanced C1-C2 level students in accordance The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages / CEFR).

Students will learn to communicate their ideas in written English accurately and effectively. As well as covering topics such as grammatical skills, sentence structure, and vocabulary, the course will also explore English literature and poetry.

Course topics include:
• Essay and report writing

• Note taking
• Summarising a text
• Referencing/library work
• Grammatical accuracy
• Writing styles

English Academic Writing students will learn how to: 
• Read a wide range of literature to gain understanding and critically evaluate the ideas within them

Business Leadership and Innovation / Young Entrepreneur Course
• Duration: 3 weeks. Suitable for Advanced and Native English Speakers (For example, we also have native speakers from the UK & USA enrolled in this class.)
• Students also choose one creative or sports course from the following: Golf, Tennis, Soccer Football, Sports Leadership, Photography, Theatre / Drama / Acting techniques.

This course are designed to help students practice their English and communication skills in a more intellectual/real life setting. We also have native English speakers from the USA & UK.

Structured in the style of "Dragons' Den" TV series, this entrepreneurship course encourages students to develop a business idea and learn about advertising, business plans, competitive advantages, customer demographics, ethical issues, financing, networking, digital marketing, product development and social responsibility.

Objectives of the Business Leadership and Innovation Course:

Environmental sustainability and conservation is a hands-on class full of field study and experimentation, and this environmental studies summer course is the perfect introduction for students interested in biology, ecology, conservation and the environment. Covering a broad range of topics, the course is designed to introduce students to the main issues affecting biodiversity in the world today.

This is an excellent course to provide students with important exposure to the legal process, and how it affects society. Students learn about the different types of law (ranging from contract law to criminal law and civil procedure) and the various legal issues that impact our lives. They learn how to debate with confidence in a fun, challenging and inspiring setting.

• Our study skills class is specifically designed for students starting the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or GCSE exams, and prepares students for the workload and level of study that they can expect in the IB / GCSE curriculum during the school year.

• Students will learn how to research, prepare for lectures, take part in debates, give oral presentations with confidence and construct a draft essay which will get them ready for the academic years which lie ahead.

Golf Summer Camp - Onsite golf course and driving range:
• Duration: 3 weeks. Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced options
• Must be combined with one of the following academic courses:
English Language Course / IELTS exam preparation, English Academic Writing, Study Skills (Pre-IB / Pre GCSE / SAT exam prep), Business Leadership and Innovation, Sports Science, Environmental Sustainability.

Enjoy the unforgettable experience of playing golf in Scotland, the “Home of Golf!” 

Golf tuition from our PGA qualified Golf Coach who is a renowned specialist in the field of junior golf coaching.

Golf for Beginners: We offer a perfect introduction to golf. Our PGA coaches teach all the basics, from chipping and bunker shots to the importance of etiquette and the rules of the game.

For Intermediate to Advanced players, our specialist coaches evaluate and work with students on an individual basis to improve their game with the aim of reducing their handicap. Lessons cover swing improvement, short game, distance control and mental focus.


Summer Tennis Camp:
• Duration: 3 weeks. Suitable for Beginner to Advanced Tennis Players
• Must be combined with one of the following academic courses:
English Language Course / IELTS exam preparation, English Academic Writing, Study Skills (Pre-IB / Pre GCSE / SAT exam prep), Business Leadership and Innovation, Sports Science, Environmental Sustainability.

Our tennis class develops fitness, strategy and teaches the finer, technical elements of the sport. We have access to six indoor and two outdoor clay courts which collectively comprise the Scottish Tennis Centre - where Wimbledon, U.S. Open and Olympic Champion, Andy Murray, proudly sharpened his skills.

Coaches are all LTA qualified and lessons are carried out on first class tennis courts. Lessons cover tennis specific fitness such as balance, speed and strength as well as the more technical elements of the game including ground stroke, net play, footwork, serving, returning serves and strategy.

Summer Soccer Camp for students ages 15-18:
• Duration: 3 weeks. Suitable for players of all levels - Beginner to Advanced soccer skills.
• Must be combined with one of the following academic courses:
English Language Course / IELTS exam preparation, English Academic Writing, Study Skills (Pre-IB / Pre GCSE / SAT exam prep), Business Leadership and Innovation, Environmental Sustainability.

Our soccer camp is suitable for young football players of all levels to enable participants to develop their tactical skills and individual fitness in a fun and competitive environment. Students will also develop their teamwork and communication skills with an international mix of players.

With access to grass pitches as well as a 3G rubber-crumb and sand-based pitch, soccer camps participants will have the opportunity to play on a variety of different surfaces.

This leadership class is designed to help build and develop a student's Self-Confidence and positive leadership through sport and active outdoor activities. With access to quality indoor and outdoor sports facilities as well as breath-taking countryside, this programme provides a variety of fun, sporting opportunities for all levels.

Students work to develop their sport leadership skills through diligent teamwork, goal setting and effective communication.  The sports leadership course is well suited to those students who simply love playing sports but also fun-loving students who are keen to try something new and exciting.

English Language Course / IELTS exam preparation, English Academic Writing, Study Skills (Pre-IB / Pre GCSE / SAT exam prep), Business Leadership and Innovation, Environmental Sustainability.

This class gives students insight into the theory behind theatre, as well as hands-on experience. Students work as a group to learn and develop the skills required to create, design, produce and star in a professional theatre production. Our theatre class is a challenging, intense and highly rewarding elective.

It’s great for developing confidence and communication skills in students of all ages, levels and backgrounds.

Our photography elective is ideal for anyone who wishes to improve their photography skills, and develop their knowledge of photography, and is the perfect introduction for students interested in creative arts, media, and film. Learn how to use your camera, and take amazing photographs.

• Photography composition and techniques
• Understand how to use your digital camera
• How to shoot in manual
• How to bring together the elements of manual mode to create an evocative image: shutter speed, aperture, and image composition
