Austin Language Learning School:
Conveniently situated close to downtown Austin TX, Austin Language Learning School provides beginner to advanced level Spanish language classes for adults, with 8 and 16-hour per month study options. Our curriculum covers basic language skills: listening, speaking, reading and vocabulary, and is focused on situation-based Spanish language learning.
Beginner to Advanced Level Spanish Language Classes for Adults:
A 'Conversational Spanish' program that is designed for students who are interested in learning Spanish as a Second language. Students are given the opportunity to practice with native speakers each class meeting. Study options include:
- 16 hour Monthly Program (two days a week / 2 hours a day)
- 8 hour Monthly Program (one day a week / 2 hours a day)
Proficiency levels:
Beginning: Low & High
Classes are conducted in both English and Spanish.
In these beginning levels students will learn to make basic conversation. Conversation topics seen at this level include but are not restricted to:
- Talking about themselves and others as well as asking and answering questions about their personal history: place of origin, occupation, leisure activities, address and phone number, weather, time and date, and likes and dislikes. They should be speaking Spanish 25%-50% of the time in class at these levels.
Intermediate: Low & High
Classes are conducted entirely in Spanish.
In these levels, students are able to handle most uncomplicated communicative tasks and social situations. They can start, sustain, and close a general conversation. Conversation topics seen at this level include but are not restricted to:
- Talking about a short story. Students are introducing themselves, ordering meals, asking directions, and making purchases. Students should be speaking Spanish up to 75%-100% of the time in class.
Advanced: Low & High
Classes are conducted entirely in Spanish.
The advanced speaker is able to satisfy the requirements of everyday situations; routine work and school requirements. Conversation topics seen at this level include but are not restricted to:
- Complaining and apologizing as well as communicate facts and talk casually about topics of current public and personal interest. Opinion topics will be explained in detail and hypothesize. Students will be speaking Spanish virtually 100% of the time.
