General Mandarin Courses for Beginners:
This course is designed for absolute beginners. It progressively builds up students' knowledge of vocabulary and grammar for daily usage. Two specific textbooks ‘New Practical Chinese Reader’ textbook and work book and DVDs, CDs support each class. If you conscientiously follow our program and invest the required time, you will be able to communicate in Chinese within 10 sessions.

Topics include:
- Phonetics (Pinyin);
- Greetings;
- Introducing yourself in social or business settings;
- Numbers and dates, asking and telling the time;
- Go shopping and bargain;
- Ordering food and drinks;
- Telephone conversation skills;
- Making appointments;
- Asking for directions and places;
- Talking about opinions;
- Around 300 spoken vocabularies
- And you will be able to read and write 100 characters.
- And enhance your awareness of cultural diversity.

At the end of the Beginners series course (3 terms/ 30 sessions), students should be able to conduct daily conversations with native speakers and students will also have a command of approximately 1,000 basic words, 200 sentence patterns and 3,000 commonly used sentences.

Business Beginners Mandarin Series:
This course is for absolute beginners who whish to use Mandarin at work or for business purpose. It is designed for busy learners who are looking for a part-time short course. LCA has researched various methods and developed a unique effective style. As the purpose of any Language is to communicate, we make sure our classes are communicative, while at the same time not forgetting building vocabulary and grammar. 
This style of language teaching has been proved many times to rapidly accelerate the learning process, meaning you can communicate with fluency, accuracy and confidence sooner. By developing the skills you need the most, and concentrating on the language that frequently occurs in common situations, we guarantee that you will be communicating with confidence in the shortest possible time.

These highly targeted training emphasises effective communication, thus you only need to learn the language required at your job or project work. As a result, this training is highly efficient, yet has obvious positive impacts on your work performance.

Students will:
- Increase knowledge of business and professional terminology;
- Learn Chinese business customs and practices;
- Learn proper manners of answering the telephone
- Practice taking messages and notes, and writing a brief summary report in Chinese.
By completing the Beginners Mandarin Series, you will be able to master over 200 commonly used sentence pattens, about 1200 words and 500 Chinese characters.
