Inspirational tuition is provided by school principal and director of training Tina Hunt. Tina is an experienced make-up artist, aesthetician, and lecturer in make-up artistry. She has worked within the industry for 18 years and is committed to the promotion of high professional training standards.  Cosmetic Make-up 

Our exclusive cosmetic make-up certificate is designed for beginners, refreshers and beauty professionals looking for the basis upon which to build a firm understanding of the practice and principles of make-up application. If you are considering training as a make-up artist or are passionate about perfecting your own look, this one day course is for you. Course outline:
This course introduces professional make-up application demonstrating both practical skills and knowledge that will enable you to confidently explore new techniques, produce beautiful and adaptable results for a variety of occasions suitable for day, evening and special events.

Following on from cosmetic make-up, this intensive one day course teaches the art of flawless, long lasting and camera ready bridal make-up.  You will also learn vital knowledge related to working in the industry including portfolio presentation, marketing your skills, the make-up trial and contracts between the make-up artist and client.

The aim is to teach you the skills and knowledge of a variety of professional application techniques that will enable you to confidently produce stunning results in all aspects of bridal and special occasion make-up. You will learn how to select appropriate cosmetic colours and practice a range of application techniques including how to achieve a lightweight photo finish and how to attract light to the face for added radiance. This will ensure you understand the vital techniques to achieve a beautiful, yet timeless look that will translate well in those all important wedding photos for years to come.   

As hands on experience is a vital part to learning skills such as;  highlighting, shading, concealing, contouring and tear-proofing as well as the use of artificial lashes, the practical session will allow you practice and gain confidence while in a supportive environment.

This new fully updated and revised three day intensive course covers all of the essential skills of make-up from the founding principles of beauty to more advanced techniques suitable for photographic and fashion make-up.

This highly informative course provides an excellent base for those with no previous experience. It is suitable also for those associated with the beauty industries who wish to expand their skills and knowledge or those interested in following a career in make-up. The accelerated format will be of particular interest to those looking to learn over a relatively short time period.

The programme of study is based upon a mixture of tutor demonstration and student practical work. You will practice and carry out tasks on a model to ensure a broad range of first-hand experience. 

Course outline:
Topics in brief: related anatomy, health, safety and hygiene practises, skin preparation, the use of tools and products, basic principles of highlighting and shading, mixing and blending, the application of primers and bases, beauty make-up for day, evening and special occasion, bridal make-up, corrective make-up (contouring and face shaping), artificial eye lashes, vintage glamour, photographic and contemporary fashion make-up.

Do I need any previous experience?

How will I be taught?
All class sessions are practical based. You will learn in a friendly and relaxed environment and receive optimal attention throughout. You will experiment with a variety of products and learn how to apply new looks right away.

How often are courses run/how long is each course?
Courses run regularly on week days and can be arranged during half term holidays or on specific dates suitable for you (subject to tutor availability). Courses will not be cancelled due to insufficient numbers and will still go ahead on a 1-2-1 basis.

Where do I attend for practical training?
Practical training takes place at our private training room in Southsea in Hampshire set in the tranquil and leafy area of Craneswater Park, just minutes from the seafront and Solent. We are within easy access to rail stations, all major motorway routes and Southampton Airport. Travel information and local accommodation lists can be provided if required.

What will I need to bring?
You will need to bring a model with you each day to practice upon, a camera and a packed lunch. Courses include the use of premium tools, products, equipment and cosmetics for training purposes each day. You are not required to purchase a kit or brushes to attend.
