GEOS Gold Coast provides a comprehensive programme of courses for all students of all levels of ability, focussing on improving English speaking, reading, listening and writing skills. This encourages the student to interact with other students, their teachers and local Australians to improve your English in real-life situations.
Intensive General English Courses
General English (GE) courses are taught over six levels: Beginner; Elementary; Pre-Intermediate; Intermediate; Upper-Intermediate and Advanced Courses are conducted in 10-week modules and students may commence study on any Monday. Class sizes do vary with average of 16 per class. An English level test and orientation is given prior to course commencement. There are progress tests every 5 weeks.
Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) and CAE Preparation
The Cambridge FCE & CAE examinations are designed to test your ability to use your English in the workplace. It is ideal if you want to work or study abroad or to develop a career which requires language skills. FCE & CAE indicate sufficient proficiency in English to be of practical use in many industries, in particular tourism, where contact with English speakers is required.
The FCE course is designed for students at an Upper-Intermediate level and the CAE Course is for Advanced level of English students. These courses focuses on all of the 4 skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking as well as a language component which is based on real, everyday language used for both employment purposes and further education. GEOS Gold Coast Cambridge courses have a maximum of 12 students in each class (Registered Course).
IELTS Exam Preparation
IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. This GEOS Gold Coast 10-week course is designed to prepare students for the IELTS Examination. Students require a minimum of Intermediate level English to benefit from the course. It focuses on the key skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. The course also covers both the Academic and the General format of the IELTS Examination (Registered Course).
