Media & Communication Certificate & Diploma Programs:

Fundamental Arts Certificate Program:
Duration: 1-year. Credential Issued: Certificate

This program will help students build the knowledge and skills necessary for post-secondary studies in the media cluster of programs. It will provide students with the opportunity to explore potential career choices, learn effective strategies for academic success and give them a head start on their future studies in one of our diploma programs.

Graphic Design Diploma Program:
Duration: 2-years. Credential Issued: Diploma in Graphic Design

The Graphic Design program focuses on addressing the needs for strong graphic designers by specializing in a Diploma in Graphic Design. This program of study prepares students to work in any of the exciting areas that are open to designers today.

Through exposure to a wide variety of ideas, challenges and media, graduates leave the program with a solid portfolio and a wide variety of skills. The curriculum involves students in design theory and application, creative problem solving, typography, color prepress, and print production areas, digital design work and the management of projects. 

Video Game Art and Animation Diploma Program:
Duration: 2-years. Credential Issued: Diploma in Video Game Art and Animation

The two year Video Game Art and Animation Diploma program is designed to prepare students for a career in the art department of a video game developer. The first year covers the basics of art production for video games.

Traditional drawing skills are taught alongside the latest software techniques. We examine the history of the industry and look behind the scenes to see what goes into video game development. The second year incorporates technical aspects needed to integrate art assets into a video game production pipeline.

Journalism Diploma Program:
Duration: 2-years. Credential Issued: Newspaper Reporter Diploma

Learners use state of-the-art equipment and software to produce their work. They are introduced to the basics of print and broadcast newsgathering and presentation, including feature photography. Using readily available community resources, they learn the craft of newsgathering, from interviewing to covering meetings and demonstrations.

Photography and Digital Imaging Diploma Program:
Duration: 2-years. Credential Issued: Photographer Diploma

Photography and Digital Imaging offers professional level training for this challenging yet rewarding field. The program goal is to graduate students as photographers, assistant photographers and/or Photoshop technicians.

This program runs much like a large professional studio/lab. Some camera/general equipment (digital and analog) is provided by the program for students in order to complete program requirements.
