LILA* Liverpool:
LILA* was established in Liverpool in 2004 as an independent English language academy. Founded by two sisters, Leanne Linacre and Victoria Bligh.

Leanne and Victoria started their careers teaching overseas, upon their return to the UK they felt that there was a need for more quality language schools in the north of England and Liverpool was the perfect choice.

Communal areas are cleaned and maintained regularly by the accommodation's management teams but it's students' responsibility to clean their individual rooms and common areas after preparing and eating food.


Available year round to students aged 18+ subject to availability.

Supervised Residence (En-Suite) is available in Liverpool to students ages 16+ during the summer period only, subject to availability.

Homestay is perfect for students who want to stay with local people and immerse themselves in the English culture.

Students are welcomed into the family and encouraged to settle in to their 'home away from home'.

Students can be placed in a single or twin room and share the other living areas with the hosts who range from singles or couples to families and young professionals.

We also have specially selected DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked hosts who are experienced in hosting juniors and younger students - perfect for our Junior Programmes and Groups!

Available to students aged 12+. Subject to availability.

Homestay accommodation is available all year subject to availability.



There are two options when staying with a host family in Liverpool:

Half Board –Breakfast and dinner included (Monday – Saturday, with lunch on Sundays)

Full Board – Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner (Monday – Sunday)

Most of our host families live in the suburbs of Liverpool, not in the city centre, so students must be prepared to travel for approximately 20-45 minutes to and from school via public transport.

Residence (Shared Bathroom) is for students who want to share with a varied mix of other LILA* and non-LILA* students and expand their social circle whilst in the UK.

If you love your independence and meeting new people from different backgrounds then this option could be perfect for you.

Residence (Shared Bathroom) options range from medium-sized shared houses to rooms within larger accommodation buildings which are all furnished and decorated to the highest standards.

All of our Residence (Shared Bathroom) options are located in popular student areas with access to local amenities (shops, bars etc) and good transport links.

Some accommodations in Liverpool are within walking distance of LILA* while others require travel by public transport meaning you'll really get to know the city well!

LILA* also offers self-contained studio apartments for one or two students who would prefer to live independently in the city centre of Liverpool. The Private Apartments have their own mini-kitchen and bathroom and are within walking distance of LILA* (10-15 minutes).
