Earth English:
Based in Wales in the UK, Earth English provides year-round specialist English language courses for environmental and natural resource professionals and students (for individuals, groups, companies, international organizations). Our classes are held primarily in the UK, but we can also teach throughout Europe and globally. As part of the programme, an Earth English teacher will travel to your home, organisation or educational institution deliver intensive or semi-intensive language programmes for your staff or students. Earth English courses teach you the technical vocabulary and language structures that you need to communicate in your subject with confidence.
- Specialist Environmental / Natural Resource English Language Courses
The courses we offer teach people the technical terms and language structures they need to research and present information about their activities in agriculture, forestry, environmental management, hydrology, soil science, wildlife conservation, sustainable development and a number of other natural resource management sectors.
- Student-oriented Class Structure
Earth English courses are designed and written for the learners we teach. We prepare materials specifically related to environmental and natural resource management subjects and use a combination of original exercises and texts with articles, audio and passages carefully selected from reputable publishers in the field. Our courses are not available from any other language school or organisation and we do not supplement our materials with exercises or extracts from general English language textbooks.
- Modern Teaching Methods
Earth English courses include exercises, tasks and activities to teach vocabulary, grammar and functional language in the context of up-to-date, 'real-life' topics. With practice in all four skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing), learners are able to communicate specialist English fluently and with confidence .
Earth English teachers are all native English speakers. Teachers are qualified to teach English to speakers of other languages and have experience of teaching a range of foreign language groups. In addition, Earth English teachers are qualified and have experience in environmental or natural resource management activities. Some language schools may teach specialist or professional English courses (such as business English, English for medicine, English for the aviation industry, etc.), but often the teacher does not have a background in that subject. To ensure that learners receive a professional service and a complete learning experience, we feel that it is important for the teacher to be knowledgable about the subject and to be able to offer more than just an understanding of the language.
