Established in 1991, IMI University Centre – International Management Institute Switzerland is a leading hotel management school in Lucerne, in north-central Switzerland. Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Hotel Management:
Course Duration: 22-week intensive, residential course followed by a 22-week non-residential programme for the field consulting project or diPhoto of International Hotel Management University in Switzerlandssertation. 
This MBA program is designed for students with qualifications and/or experience in hospitality management who wish to develop their skills and understanding of the industry in preparation for middle and senior management positions. The core focus is on strategic management, with subjects including enterprise development, strategic international marketing management, project appraisal and feasibility studies, business cultures in developing new markets.

Taught entirely in English, this MBA program is validated by IMI's UK partner, Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU). Students, who successfully complete this programme, will receive two degrees - from IMI and from MMU. There are 4 intakes per year: January, March, July and October.

IMI Luzern MBA Degree Program:
Offering four different pathways of study, this is an intensive three-semester, hospitality-focused MBA. In addition to the ten core modules, you canImage of International Hotel Management University in Switzerland choose to specialise in Sustainable Hotel and Tourism Management, Social Media Marketing, Swiss Hotel Management Operations, or Luxury Brands and Services Management. Students who cannot commit to the three semesters have the option of completing the Postgraduate Certificate Programme (80 credits) and the Postgraduate Diploma Programme (140 credits).

Course Structure:
- Semester 1: A 22-week intensive residential programme worth 140 credits which is taught on campus in Luzern.
- Semester 2: A 22-week professional practice where you can develop your professional skills by working in a hospitality business either in Switzerland or abroad. During your time in theindustry you will be expected to complete a written assignment. If you already have considerable work experience, you may be entitled to move directly to semester 3.
- Semester 3: A 22-week non-residential semester during which you complete your Dissertation or Field Consulting Project. You will be assigned a tutor who will guide you through concept, planning and execution.

Postgraduate Diploma in International Hotel and Events Management: 
Course Duration: 22 weeks
The objective of this intensive course is to equip students who have limited or no experience of the hospitality industry with the practical and management skills necessary for entry level positions in hotel, events and related industries. The core focus is operational and integrative management, with subjects including front office management, food and beverage operations, and the business development of hospitality organisations and events management. There are 4 intakes per year: January, March, July and October.

Core subjects include: Food and Beverage Services; Financial Management, Human Resource Management; Personal Development Planning. 

Bachelor of Arts with Honours Degree Courses - 7 pathways:
These courses are designed for those who have prior qualifications at Higher Diploma level. Validated by Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), each 22-week programme is equivalent to the final year of university study. The objective of these programmes is to equip students for the demands of senior management in the tourism, hospitality and corporate event industries. Each programme allows a measure of specialisation in Hospitality, Restaurant, Tourism, Photos of IMI University Centre – International Management Institute SwitzerlandEvent or European Culinary Management or in some cases, a combination of two fields of study. There are 4 intakes per year: January, March, July and October. 

Students, who successfully complete this programme, will receive two degrees - from IMI University Centre, Switzerland and from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. There is a choice of seven contemporary pathways:

Core subjects include international food and beverage concept development, international strategy and marketing, international tourism development, MICE management, strategies for evaluating management decisions, and career planning and development. Students receive individualised attention and the curriculum focuses on the strategic business development of hospitality and tourism organisations.

IMI Higher Diplomas & Diploma HE (Higher Education) Courses:
Course Duration: 22 weeks
These courses are designed for students with an interest in rapidly achieving junior management positions and who already have relevant qualifications and / or experience. Each of these programmes are equivalent to the third year of university. They allow a measure of single or combined specialization in either international hotel management, tourism management or events management. Students who successfully complete this programme, will receive two awards - from IMI University Centre, Switzerland and from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. The course options are as follows:

IMI Diploma in International Hotel and Tourism Management:
Course Duration: 22 weeks 
This course is designed for students who already have qualifications in and / or experience of the fundamental operational aspects of hospitality and tourism management and seek to develop these skills to supervisory management level. The objective of the course is to develop students' professional understanding of how tourism and hospitality organizations integrate business functions and focuses on specific departmental responsibilities (front office and food production) as well as cross-functional management skills (financial management, accounting, marketing and sales, and the uses of e-commerce). The programme also offers opportunities for the learning of foreign languages (French or German) and core intermediate management skills.

Students, who successfully accomplish this programme, will receive two awards - from IMI University Centre, Switzerland and from our British academic partner, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK.

IMI Certificate in International Hotel and Tourism Management:
Course DuPicture of International Hotel Management University in Switzerlandration: 22 weeks 
This course is designed for school leavers who wish to begin their academic and industry career in hospitality and tourism with a good grounding in operational management. It is equivalent to the first year of university. The objective of the course is to give students a sound professional education in the operational management of tourism and hospitality organizations, with a particular focus on food and beverage operations, global hospitality and tourism trends and accommodation systems.

The programme also includes opportunities to acquire fundamental skills in languages, information technology, communication, business planning and self-development.

Language Courses:

English language courses for international students:- University English Preparatory Programme (UEPP) - Offered at 4 levels for students who need to improve their English level to the entry standard before commencing their IMI programme.
- Pre-Sessional English Course (PSEC) - Offered at 3 levels for students who already meet the required standard of English for their chosen chose but would like to refresh their language skills. Students on the PSEC courses join the last four weeks of an equivalent UEPP course.

Additional Language Courses:
All courses are taught through English. However, students may also learn an additional language (French, German or Spanish). Having a knowledge of a second language enhances one's employability.
