What is DSH?
Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH)- German as a Foreign Language for Tertiary Education is a German language test done before entry into a technical college or university. It tests to see if the study applicant is in possession of the language skills necessary to complete a degree at a German college/university. The DSH tests reading, listening, writing and oral competencies.
Are there any alternatives to the DSH? Yes, in particular the TestDaF ("Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache")- Test of German as a Foreign Language. Furthermore, there are a number of other tests that are alternatives to the DSH: Kleines Deutsches Sprachdiplom (KDS)-Short German Language Diploma, Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom (GDS)- Long German Language Diploma, Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung (ZOP)- Central A-level Exam and KMK-Sprachdiplom, Stufe II- KMK Language Diploma, Level II
