Wesley College is a co-educational, day and boarding school with over 880 students. Founded in 1845 for the Methodist Community in Ireland, Wesley College combines all of the best traditions of the past with modern, state of the art facilities. While priority is given to students from the main Protestant denominations, the College prides itself on its inclusive community spirit and welcomes students of all faiths. Wesley College is committed to academic excellence. Students are offered a wide curriculum and taught by a professional and dedicated staff. We also offer a range of extra-curricular and sporting activities in the belief that these assist a sound general education and contribute to the whole person. The curriculum comprises the following components:
- Preparatory Class (Equivalent to sixth standard in the primary school)
- Junior Cycle Programme (Junior Certificate Course: a three year course, in which Form I, Form II and Form III are involved, leading to the Junior Certificate examination)- Senior Cycle Programme (Form IV - Transition Year: a one-year programme removed from the pressures of State examinations with many new curricular options, as well as incorporating preparation for the start of the Leaving Certificate course. Leaving Certificate Course: a two-year course operating in Forms V and Form VI leading to the Leaving Certificate examination).
The boarding houses Epworth and Embury are central to life at Wesley; students from all over Ireland and the world live here and contribute fully to life in the College. Boarders have a unique opportunity to experience a wide range of cultural diversity and form friendships that will last a life time.
The dedicated staff in the boarding houses ensure that the students are cared for in an environment where they feel safe, looked after and accepted. We believe that boarding should be a home away from home environment and are committed to providing a quality and personal service to students who live in our boarding houses.
The Wesley Boarding Experience:
Wesley College is committed to small boarding numbers to allow for a high standard of attention and care to its students. Rooms for Senior accommodate 2/4 students. The College has just completed a refurbishment programme in the Junior Boys boarding dorms and now accommodates 3/4 students in each room. The Girls House will be upgraded to the same standard next summer 2008.
Wesley Boarding Options:
5 day boarding
5 day boarding ( from Sunday to Friday evenings) has already proved to be very popular among our current students and may suit families who wish to take advantage of the huge range of facilities and opportunities that Wesley has to offer while having the weekends to go home and spend with family.
7 day boarding
7 day boarding will suit students who wish to avail of the complete accommodation package in the College and the opportunity to take advantage of additional study and sports at the weekend.

A non-denominational day and boarding private school in Co. Founded in 1843, St Columba's College is a co-educational boarding school of 300 pupils, aged 11 to 18, in a beautiful setting at the foothills of the mountains overlooking Dublin Bay. We are seven miles south of Dublin city centre. We do have local day pupils, but about 80% of pupils are seven-day boarders. The pursuit of academic excellence is the everyday priority of our highly qualified professional staff. There are 38 full-time members of the teaching staff for the 300 pupils, and the resulting overall pupil-to-staff ratio of under 10-to-1 means small classes and close individual attention. In regular formal staff meetings, individuals' academic problems are discussed. The academic progress of each pupil is at all times closely monitored.

Rathdown School is a private day and boarding girls' school located in Glenageary in south county Dublin, on the east coast of Ireland. We provide 5-day and 7-day boarding for 12-18 year olds in our senior school.Founded in 1973, Rathdown was built on the proud traditions of four original schools: The Hall School, Hillcourt School, Park House School and Glengara Park School.
Rathdown currently has around 600 girls enrolled - 400 in the Senior School and 200 in the Junior School. Class sizes rarely exceed 25, so it is possible to give individual attention and to develop the special abilities and interests of each student.
The school enjoys a superb location and setting. The 16 acre site is set back from the road on a hill overlooking the sea and with inland views of the Wicklow mountains.
