Most of our students live with a homestay family whilst studying at Dominion English School. A family environment not only gives you a great opportunity to experience the Kiwi way of life and practice your English skills outside the lassroom but is also the most cost effective option - you'll make lifelong friends too! Our families are carefully chosen and regularly inspected so we know they will provide you with a warm, welcoming and caring home. The majority of our families are experienced hosts and have been looking after our students for many years. Just let us know any special requests at the time of booking and we will do our best to find a family to match your preferences.
Low-cost budget accommodation usually in communal dormitories of 4 or 6 (some hostels provide single rooms at extra cost) with shared cooking, washing and laundry facilities.
If it's luxury accommodation you are after, then this option is for you! There is a wide range of hotels to choose from to suit the most discerning student. Most hotel prices do not include meals so you'll need to budget for this on top of the cost of the accommodation.
- Warm, friendly atmosphere. Both schools are large enough to offer up to 8 levels of English and small enough for everyone to be your friend. Students immediately feel at home.
- We are easy to find in downtown Auckland and Christchurch near bus transport, train stations, shops, restaurants and theatres. Close to ferry and water's edge in Auckland, near Cathedral in Christchurch.
- Students can transfer between schools. Long term students (24 weeks+) who book a transfer in advance receive free airline ticket return between schools.

Our Auckland school is located in a modern building in the centre of the city. We are just a few minutes from the Britomart transport terminal and only a short walk from bars, restaurants, shops, libraries and other city centre amenities.
Auckland is New Zealand's largest city and was recently voted as having the 5th highest standard of living in the world. It lies on a narrow stretch of land between the beautiful Manukau and Waitemata harbours. Auckland, also known as the 'City of Sails', is regarded by many as the gateway to New Zealand. Popular destinations such as Rotorua, the Bay of Islands and Taupo are only a few hours away and are perfect for a weekend away. Alternatively, Piha, the Waitakere ranges and Waiheke Island are ideal for day trip.
The Dominion cultural, social and sporting programme has been designed to enable you to meet New Zealanders and make the most of your time outside the classroom. Activities are arranged every afternoon, every weekend and after school. There is a social evening every Thursday and regular trips to the theatre, sporting events and restaurants.
