Bluedata International Institute:
Located in midtown Manhattan, Bluedata International Institute has been one of New York City's prominent language learning centers for the past 11 years. We are 2 blocks away from Penn Station Madison Square Garden, easily accessible by train and subway to students from every borough of metro New York area as well as upstate NY, New Jersey and Conneticut.
ESL (Levels 1 to 6), Business English, TOEFL Prep Course, GMAT and GRE. The academic program length varies from three months to one year depending upon the student's preference. Extension of academic stay may be granted upon demonstrated academic needs of the student.
ESL (Level 1) 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: Basic English Skills Test.
The objective of this ESL program is to provide the appropriate training for English as a Second Language speakers who intend to proceed to post-secondary study. A secondary goal of this program is to enhance cross-cultural interaction and understanding. ESL Level 1 teaches students numbers, time, days and months. They will begin to touch grammar by incorporating present tense, pronouns, industry-specific vocabulary and adjectives into basic conversations. Students will focus on correct pronunciation.
ESL (Level 2) 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: Basic English Skills Test, minimum score 29.
The objective of this ESL program is to provide the appropriate training for English as a Second Language speakers who intend to proceed to post-secondary study. A secondary goal of this program is to enhance cross-cultural interaction and understanding. ESL Level 2 teaches students intermediate grammar concepts with present progressive tense, prepositions and pronouns. They will also learn counting and non-counting numbers, question words and industry-specific questions and conversations.
ESL (Level 3) 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: Basic English Skills Test, minimum score 42.
The objective of this ESL program is to provide the appropriate training for English as a Second Language speakers who intend to proceed to post-secondary study. A secondary goal of this program is to enhance cross-cultural interaction and understanding. ESL Level 3 teaches students advanced grammar concepts with past tense and past progressive tense and reviewing the tenses covered in Level 1 and Level 2. They learn adverbs and how to compare between people and things. Students further develop their conversations skills by increasing conversation length and combining advanced vocabulary and grammar concepts.
ESL (Level 4) 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: Basic English Skills Test, minimum score 58.
The objective of this ESL program is to provide the appropriate training for English as a Second Language speakers who intend to proceed to post-secondary study. A secondary goal of this program is to enhance cross-cultural interaction and understanding. ESL Level 4 teaches students more advanced grammar concepts with future and conditional tense. They also learn to express a sequence of events and apply different parts of speech to different event timelines. Students focus on advanced industry-specific vocabulary and conversations.
ESL (Level 5) 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: Basic English Skills Test, minimum score 65.
The objective of this ESL program is to bring the student to a level of proficiency, which will enable him or her to carry a full academic load in English. A secondary goal of this program is one of cross-cultural understanding and adaptation. As a part of the college preparatory school curriculum, this program is designed to prepare the international student for entry into an American post-secondary institution.
ESL (Level 6) 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: Basic English Skills Test, minimum score 65.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be proficient with English grammar. The student should be able to make dialogs, questions and answers, sentences, and polite requests in English for advanced level. This course also contains aspects of English reading and vocabulary; writing; listening and speaking.
TOEFL Prep Course 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; ESL Placement Test score of 473.
TOEFL is recognized throughout the world by major universities and businesses as a measure of English proficiency. A high TOEFL score is required by most U.S. colleges and universities for admission of international students. This course helps the students acquire the following skills:
- familiarization with the format of the test
- techniques for answering multiple choice questions
- vocabulary expansion
- grammar analysis
- reading and listening comprehension skills
Emphasis is placed upon vocabulary, grammar, listening and reading comprehension. Upon successful completion of the course, the student achieves a comprehensive improvement in all aspects of his or her language skills and test-taking skills. The school also offers a variety of extracurricular activities and field trips to better prepare our students for a rewarding postsecondary academic experience in America.
Business English 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: High School Diploma or GED, ESL Placement Test score of 473, 3 months full-time or equivalent working experience in a business.
Through this course, students acquire the ability to understand and properly utilize standard business and professional vocabulary and concepts. This course may be taken as a preparatory program for economic or business concentrators. It also serves students who are already in business who need to improve their language or behavioral professionalism in a business setting. In addition to in-class lectures and labs, the school regularly organizes field trips for students to interact with business individuals and organizations right here in the international economic and trade center. The course emphasis is on international business English; at the same time, we acquaint the students with American business practices and the entrepreneurial spirit.
GMAT Prep Course 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: Basic English Skills Test, minimum score 65.
Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared for the GMAT test. In addition, students will improve both their language and quantitative skills in a comprehensive manner, including grammar, reading, vocabulary, writing and mathematics.
GRE Prep Course 216 Hours
Entrance Requirements: Basic English Skills Test, minimum score 65.
Upon completion of the course, students will be prepared for the GRE test. In addition, students will improve both their language and quantitative skills in a comprehensive manner, including grammar, reading, vocabulary, writing and mathematics.
